The Equine Lameness Center is able to provide high quality sports medicine, acupuncture and chiropractic care in the comfort of your own barn, pasture or at our facility. We also offer rehab programs specifically tailored to address your equine athlete’s injury, In addition to long and short term full care boarding options.

Dr. Jessica Hamilton is the sole owner and operator of The Equine Lameness Center. Following Graduation from Texas A&M College of Veterinary Medicine in 2012, Dr. Hamilton immediately began working as an intern at Lone Star Park Equine Hospital in Grand Prairie, Texas. After the internship Dr. Hamilton stayed one more year as an associate.

In May 2014, Stephenville Equine Sports Medicine was started with her Mentor Dr. Rob Franklin. For the next three years SEQSM was a busy rodeo equine sports medicine practice located in the heart of Stephenville, Texas. In August of 2017, another partner bought into the practice and later was sold the practice. 

January 2020, The Equine Lameness Center was established as a Mobile Equine Sports Medicine practice with intentions of building a haul-in facility.

In 2018, Dr. Hamilton successfully became certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in Animal Chiropractic at Parker University located in Dallas, Texas.

In 2019, Dr. Hamilton completed The Equine Acupuncture Course at The Chi Institute located in Reddick, Florida. 

In January 2022, TEqLC’s land was purchased and in September 2022, The Equine Lameness Center opened our 50x60 climate controlled facility complete with three ICU stalls and a 50X60 covered lameness pad.

In May of 2025, TEqLC’s property was upgraded to a 15 acre facility equipped with an equine swimming pool, panel walker, 16 stalls, multiple runs and 5 larger pens to better serve the needs of our injured athletes looking for rehab programs. We also offer short and long term full care boarding as well as our vet services, chiropractic care and acupuncture.

When Dr. Hamilton is not working, she is busy raising her sweet daughter Della and barrel racing on her horse Sugar Bar. Dr. Hamilton also prioritizes going to church, working out and spending time with her family and friends.
